Planning a beach wedding in Costa Rica can be a dream come true. The stunning coastal landscapes, warm weather, and romantic ambiance make it an ideal destination for couples looking to tie the knot. We will guide you through the best time to have your beach wedding in Costa Rica, considering factors such as weather, light, and temperature.

Choosing the Perfect Beach Location

Costa Rica boasts a variety of breathtaking beaches, each with its unique charm. Whether you desire a secluded and intimate beach or a vibrant and lively coastal town, there is a perfect location for your wedding. We help you choose the best location for your wedding based on several factors, such as proximity to your accommodation, the beauty of the beach, and accessibility.

To get the best locations on the beach, we recommend the wedding early, at 8 am. You have to remember that sunrise time is usually 5am, so at 8am the day is already late. This schedule allows you to choose the best locations, and also for the ceremony to be carried out as intimately as possible.

Do you like strangers watching while you get married? Do you like having people you don’t know in your wedding photos? If the answer to these questions is “no”, then we recommend getting married early, at 8 am.

Embracing the Elopement Trend

For couples seeking a more intimate and adventurous experience, eloping on a Costa Rican beach can be an excellent choice. Eloping allows you to focus on your love and commitment while enjoying the natural beauty of the surroundings. Costa Rica offers a range of elopement packages tailored to couples looking for a unique and stress-free wedding ceremony.

And if it rains, what can we do?

Planning your wedding early in the morning has its advantages. One of the advantages is that our entire wedding planning team, including our lawyer, offers to readjust the schedule of the wedding at no additional cost to you.

Therefore, if it rains at the scheduled wedding time, we offer to delay the schedule and wait for the rain to stop. Due to our experience organizing weddings in the Caribbean of Costa Rica, the most we have had to delay the schedule of a wedding has been 2 hours. Even so, we can modify the schedule to the afternoon, or also to the next day (in some cases).

Wedding Schedule

To ensure a smooth and well-coordinated beach wedding in Costa Rica, it’s important to create a detailed wedding schedule. Consider factors such as the ceremony time, photography sessions, and any additional activities you plan to include.

What if I want to get married on a Saturday afternoon?

The Caribbean beaches of Costa Rica are truly beautiful. For this reason, during the weekends, especially Saturdays, is when more people come to enjoy the beaches. If you want to celebrate your wedding on a Saturday afternoon, we know the most remote places to be able to locate your wedding.

Even so, we suggest you consider having your wedding at an early time, such as 8 am. If you have guests coming to the wedding, and they arrive on Saturday, we can also plan your wedding for Sunday at 8 am.

Is the light most beautiful for photos during the afternoon, or during the morning?

I’m glad to know that you are interested in getting the most beautiful photos for your wedding. And we know light is important for this. First of all, we must remember that in Costa Rica it rises very early (5 am) and also sets very early (5 pm to 6 pm). Our favorite light happens between 8 am and 9 am during the morning, and between 3 pm and 4 pm during the afternoon. At these times the afternoon light is very similar to the morning light. The main difference is that during the morning the beaches are almost without people, which means that we can get the best places for your photographs, and that we all are calmer while taking the photos.

What if the wedding day is very hot and the sun is shining brightly?

At 8 am the day is cooler, since a few hours have passed since dawn. As the hours go by, the sand gets hotter, and the weather warms up.

If you want to protect yourself as much as possible from the sun, we offer you a 4-column arch with a fabric to protect you from the sun.
